MIKHAEL KALE

|
Since launching his eponymous label in 2007, fashion designer Mikhael Kale of Toronto, Canada has graced the pages of international publications such as Women's Wear Daily, New York Times Style Magazine and Nylon. His work has been featured on numerous online media outlets; grabbed the attention of international style-setters like Madonna.
A student of London's Central Saint Martins, whose illustrious alumni include Stella McCartney and the late Alexander Lee McQueen, Mikhael's artistic approach to fashion design began in Milan with esteemed labels Antonio Marras and Bally. His natural talent and tireless work ethic soon caught the industry's attention, leading to a design position with Exte under the tutelage of Sergio Ciucci and Alessandro De Benedetti. In 2007, Kale returned to his native Toronto where his debut line was immediately carried by Canada's luxury retailer Holt Renfrew. Four seasons later, Mikhael set his sights on New York and has shown his collections in North America's fashion locus ever since. Mikhael's work can best be described as modern art in motion: elegantly-minimalistic at first glance, but full of details that reveal themselves as one studies the clean contours and contemporary interpretation of classic lines. His wearable masterpieces frequently find themselves displayed on the red carpets of the world - even Beyonce and Rihanna hang some Mikhael Kale in their closets. |
